Hey everyone. Lately people have been coming to me asking why I have my policy on Notum Wars, so I take that to mean some people are interested in participating. What I want to know is just how many of you are interested. IF we decide to become active in Notum Wars it will require that we join the War Council. There will then be strict rules provided by the War Council about when and where we can attack. If there is enough interest in Notum Wars, I will do more research with the War Council and ask some more questions.
Please reply via the poll, and leave any feedback you like as a reply here.

The main reason I am undecided is that I have tried doing tower fights on my doc and found it to be booooooring. Think it's a pain in the ass to get out to the middle of nowhere to buy something from a shop? Try making the trip 5 times in a row each time you die.
Also, our org manages to be very friendly with all factions. Taking an active role in tower wars would put that in jeopardy, I think. |

Yes, I think that it would put us at risk with the clan (and possibly nuet) but there are different ways to approach towers. You can be all tough, badass, and personal about it, or more proffesional, strategic "Its not personal, its buisness" type of approach. I think if we kept it at a proffesional approach, and were wise about who we attacked it wouldn't be so bad. Also, towers is a great teambuilding activity. Im not sure what the rest of you do (or do not do) towers for, but I do it because yes, I get a kick out of efficiently taking down an opposing site, I like it because it is a more strategic way of pvp, and it's nice to know that your efforts count for something (Side xp)
Also, tower benefits are hella nice.
theres my 2 cents. I was gonna it in my first post, but I was on school comp. _________________ Ownt |

I say no, because I could care less about PvP, I had my fill grinding VP at battlestation. Just not something I care for. _________________ Scott45 Keeper [220/30/70] - Equip | Auno |

I say no but thats because I personally find pvp to be boring. Also being able to get along with everyone is great. Maybe a way to keep everyone happy would be those that want to do towers form a spinoff org, just for towers and levy can stay the way it is.
The prez also wont get a headache over people being out of line |

A suggestion if you have never done towers:
The next time you see the spam from a bunch of 220 clanners attacking an omni tower site, go out and assist with the defense. It's a good way to see if you like the whole thing. Usually, the whole thing is done on the pvpnet bot for omni. |

I second tay's comment. Tower defence has the whole 'strategic' thingy into it, without our orgs name showing up! _________________ "So this is it. We're going to die."

I was thinking about starting a side org just for NW if there were enough people interested. Just as a side note. Also, please keep in mind that if this is something people want to pursue it would only be under the watchful eye of the War Council. We would be following all of their rules. _________________ -------------------------

Whats teh War Council? All notum wars iv been in were organized by us, and what-not.
And as a side not, Twinknet is the pvp chat for lower levels, and what I use. _________________ Ownt |

Omni has a war council, made of orgs for tower defense/offense _________________ Scott45 Keeper [220/30/70] - Equip | Auno |

i think il be saying no, my org used to have the towers just outside totw, it was kinda fun at first, but then geting attacked almost everyday really put of my lvling life, and got me distracted from other things, i like pvp, and i like the skills the towers can give, but i just dnt like the fact that u will die there, then u rezz, then u go kill some 1, then u will die again lol, i have my pvp fun at BS and thats enought for me, so its a no from me. _________________ You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes |

I voted No
Mainly because of the reason why i choose to join TLM in the first place.
I joined TLM because it is supposed to be a lay-back social org, without too much expectations from its members....mainly expectation only to have fun and to behave yourself within the boundries set by the president.
Lately TLM is growing in numbers vast, wich on one side kind of dissapoints me, but on the other side i can see alot of new oppertunities open for the org, IE participating in the Notum Wars.
Joining the War Council with its expectations, will clash on the principle's TLM is based on.
The initiative of making another org purely for joining the War Council in PVP might be a good idea, as long.... in my oppinion it is clearly stated to have it own ground and their actions not being reflected upon TLM.
In BS people will hate you personally.... in Notum Wars people will hate your org's actions.
Maby a side org is the wrong word. But as far as i know a whole new org loose from TLM is allowed too. As far as ive heared TLM members are free to join any other org they want too.
But then we need to adjust the rules too i guess, as if we may make a omni org that is involved in PvP, i guess we arent allowed to join an clan org to kick our own butts. it will take the freedom TLM has away.
Just my useless 2 cents _________________ Rushing through 20, getting older every day

No one's two cents are useless. I wanted to know how you all felt, and I appreciate so many constructive comments. I will leave the poll open for about another week so it gives a chance for everyone to vote and give their opinions. It looks, however, like most people are not interested, and that is fine. _________________ -------------------------

| Well, i have to be selfish here. No NW was the reason I joined TLM. Not for me, but for you guys. TBH, if omni were to investigate and find that you have known chars with clan mains in your org, they might be rather unwilling to accomodate you as an org. I think you should allow members to participate in towers but not promote it as an org function, for fear that you might get some backlash because of the variable faction nature of your org members. |

The only thing to gain by doing towers is getting tower's them self, and ofc in PvP tower mods. can be a world of difference.
When I came to join TLM, before people I knew tried to recruit me everywhere, pfft :P many of them have towers, 1 or 2 even have ql250 towers, which was the selling point they tried to get me on ^^ But I didn't want to join any of those orgs, because well, having restrictions put on how I can play and what I do is not how I want to play this game, and TLM has given me the freedom to lazy around, or so whatever I wish, without making me do anything.
By joining the War Council TLM will be expected to defend towers and also aid in offense, and will of course put restrictions on what I can do. Personally I don't want to have to run to a tower site everytime a TL7 war goes on. I play for my reasons, and overall don't like how the Omni PvP community does somethings, since after all all omni raidbots and etc are run by the PvP community, based at omnihq.org, if the site would load decently :P I have done countless pande raids, APF, was even an APF RL at one point >.>, I've spent many hours in BS, but in the end none of it was to help the "Omni PvP" community, it was all for myself, and myself alone, I knew what I needed/wanted and got whatever it was.
eh... I think I went offtopic >.> well in the end I just want to keep the freedom to do what I want and not have restrictions around towers. Thank you. ^^

Every org has to have a niche to appeal to people somehow. This is the niche market Allison and I decided to go for when Jason stopped playing AO and passed presidency to her. It's been about a year and a half since then and it's helped build us to what we are today. Consider me a vote for no (changed from undecided). |

I knew I would decide "No" from the very start, but I have waited to post as I wanted time to think out this post.
Every bad experience I have had in this game has been because of PvP or a PvPer, commiting to Tower wars would just increase the chance for the bad element of the PvP side to influence how I enjoy this game that bit more.
I know that there are some people in Levy that actively enjoy PvP, and as such fall under the name tag of "PvPers", but within this group as we all know is a small group of players that are inconsiderate, selfish, rude and offensive. It is this side of the PvP element that I object too and do what ever I can to aviod atingere with with them.
I do not think that all people who participate in PvP are this type of person and for that I hope that our memebers who do PvP will not feel I am against them or how they choose to enjoy this game. _________________ Oh....behave |

im also voting no now (from undecided) because of the same reasons as scotts put across tbh, i thought we were a helpful/fun org, as soon as we get towers we will be dashing in and out of tower battles, tempers might be stretched due to towers being lost or certain "twinks" not pulling their weight.
i also dont like the fact that all raids are run by omnihq.org, since the people who run it (minus a good few) are complete epeen maniacs and have a head the size of a beach ball. i also like the way we are interacting with clans in the org chat and im pleased that im not looked down on by them because of the reputation of TLM.
when we start fighting for towers, whether one person thinks its alright, your gonna get a hell of a lot more who will take it personally and will start to hate, and i like being loved!!
but anyway, i think its more trouble than its worth and making a spin off org will be the same . _________________ Squirrels!, Vicious Enemy Of The Nut!! |

Say hello to S42 ^^ Why I like it so much and have put my effort into it :P faction/whatever doesnt matter there, having fun with everyone is what matters :P You meet some great people you wouldn't otherwise because of the availability of clan/omni/neut there, unlike how most endgame is separated: pande, apf.. BS.. inf mishes... -.- _________________ Scott45 Keeper [220/30/70] - Equip | Auno |
